National Museum of Comoros (Le musée national des Comores)

The National Museum of Comoros comprises of collections of History, Art, Archeology and Religion; Volcanology and Earth Science; Oceanography and Natural Science; and Social and Cultural Anthropology. It is part of the National Center of Documentation and Scientific Research (CNDRS). Two smaller regional museums on the islands of Anjouan and Mohéli are associated with main museum.

The Historical Sultanates of the Comoros consist of archeological sites from five cities from the 13th and 16th centuries. They represent a distinct, local tradition of the Swahili civilization. The sites include royal palaces, reli- gious buildings, fortifications and public places.
